FJC’s ‘Or Avner’ Jewish school in Omsk, in the Russian North, is always looking for fun and interactive ways to engage students in Jewish heritage subjects, such as the weekly Torah portion.

Last year the school’s staff introduced “RoboTorah”, a fun lesson, which combined role-play and learning for the kids. This year Or Avner Omsk continued to innovate and introduced a new program “Master-Torah.” The children are able to make arts and crafts on the themes touched during the Torah portion class, creating a colorful and unique connection with their heritage.

“We believe individual and interactive approach in connecting Jewish kids with the treasures of their tradition is the best way to ensure they discover its values,” said Mrs. Rachel Krichevsky, the program’s creator.
