Ivanka Trump tours Holocaust Museum with Kushner family
06.03.2017, Jews and Society Ivanka Trump, daughter of United States President Donald Trump, toured the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington DC last week, Bloomberg reported.
Ivanka was joined by her in-laws, Charles and Seryl Kushner, who are Orthodox Jews. Ivanka converted to Judaism in 2009 to marry their son, Jared Kushner. Jared's late grandmother, Rae Kushner, survived the Holocaust and helped to found the Holocaust Museum, even providing testimony of her experience in an oral history for the exhibition.
President Trump was in meetings that morning, but on February 21, during a tour of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, he said that the recent threats against the American Jewish community are "horrible, and are painful," and vowed to visit the Holocaust museum himself "very soon." "It is very important to me," he said.
Over the weekend, police arrested a man suspected of making at least 8 of the recent wave of bomb threats against Jewish Community Centers across the United States.
