An Israeli artist, who transformed rockets shells fired from Gaza into Israel into roses and other sculptures, has urged members of the European Parliament to increase their controls on EU aid to Gaza ‘’so that they can put him out of business.’’

The artist, Yaron Bob, lives in southern Israe’s Yated, which borders the Gaza Strip and Egypt, an area which has been it by thousands of indiscriminate rocket attacks from Gaza and where many terror tunnels are routinely uncovered.

He presented his ‘’Rockets into Roses’’ works on Wednesday in the European Parliament in Strasbourg in the framework for a weeklong exhibition organized by Europe Israel Public Affairs (EIPA) and hosted by the Chairman of the European Parliament’s delegation for relatons with Israel, Fulvio Martusciello.

‘’It is such a strong and meaningful message, turning trror into beauty and summing up Israeli resilience as well as the desire for peace,’’ said Alex Benjamin, Director of EIPA, a Brussels based pro-Israeli advocacy group.

“Life is sometimes full of ironies. Here I am talking to you on the same day that a rocket landed in Sderot, and the same day that the Gaza bound women’s flotilla sought to break the blockade,’’ Yaron Bob said as he addressed MEPs at a reception in Strasbourg.

“I can’t imagine that had they succeeded they would have asked for Hamas to return the millions it has stolen in aid money, to stop executing gays and lesbians or anyone who speaks against their death cult, much less ask Hamas to stop firing rockets into Israel,’’ he added.

He then called on the members of the European Parliament ‘’to properly control the millions you send into Gaza.’’

‘’Instead, spend the money on education, projects promoting peace, that teach children that terror and violence is not the answer,’’ Bob said, adding that ‘’Hamas don’t care about their people. They only care about building rockets and digging tunnels.’’

He concluded by saying : “Control the aid and put me out of business.’’
