Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is to meet Tuesday in,Berlin with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in the framework of the sixth government-to-government meeting between Germany and Israel.
The location of these meetings alternates between Berlin and Jerusalem.
Thes governmental consultations were originally planned to take place in October but they were postponed at the last minute due to the escalation of Palestinian attacks against Israelis.
During his two-day visit in the German capital Netanyahu is accompanied by several ministers including National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Minister Yuval Steinitz, Construction Minister Yoav Gallant, Immigrant Absorption and Jerusalem Affairs Minister Zeev Elkin and Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, as well as his wife, Sara.
The ministers will meet with their German counterparts.
The inter-governmental consultations will focus on cooperation in security, cyber-security, technology, information and research and development, digitization, energy, future transportation, global social responsibility, health, medical technologies, links between the two societies, gender equality…The meetings will include the signing of bilateral agreements in an effort to continue strengthening relations between the two countries.
Netanyahu's office said the meetings were a "further manifestation of the deep, important and strategic ties between Israel and Germany."
‘’The sixth Israeli-German G2G meeting indicates the depth and scope of bilateral cooperation on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Both sides agree that the past 50 years have been characterized by the constant strengthening of bilateral cooperation between all sectors of society," it said.
