Belgian authorities took drastic security measures for the Football European Championship’s qualifier match between Belgium and Israel Tuesday in Brussels.

Backpacks and any other bags will not be allowed in the stadium to avoid people to hide weapons or a bomb. Everyone will be asked to show his ID at the stadium entrance and fans will be submitted to additional body searches.

There will also be a massive police presence at the King Baudouin stadium.

In Belgium, any event involving Israel implies extra security which means a threat level 3 (orange alert) decreed by Ocam, the threat assessment coordination body, a security source said.

After it lost 1-2 to Cyprus at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem on Saturday night, the Israeli national team’s only chance to finish in third place and qualify for the playoffs is to win over group’s leader Belgium while hope that Bosnia-Herzegovina doesn’t beat Cyprus on Tuesday.

Belgium will have only pride to play for after securing their qualification for the European Championship next year in France with a 4-1 victory Saturday in Andorra.

The Belgians can guarantee finishing first with a home win over Israel.

Bosnia is the favorite to finish in third place after beating Wales 2-0 which is second in the group.

Belgium, quarter-finalists at the 2014 World Cup, will play at the European Championship for the first time since 2000 when they hosted the tournament with the Netherlands.
