Ukrainian Prime Minister assures WJC CEO Babiy Yar investigation is in progress
29.09.2015, Jews and Society The Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has written a letter to WJC CEO Robert Singer, reassuring him that the Ukrainian government is deeply concerned about the incidents of vandalism at Babiy Yar. The "Menorah" memorial, commemorating the largest Holocaust shooting site in Europe, had been vandalized with flammable liquid on September 13, 2015.
The Prime Minister stated that he has ordered a comprehensive and impartial investigation "of these shameful incidents," and that the Ukrainian government holds as steadfast as ever in the fight against anti-Semitism and all kinds of xenophobia manifestations.
