The public organization Israeli Friends of Ukraine, which has been working for over a year on projects directed towards strengthening Israeli-Ukrainian relations and supporting the people of Ukraine, is organizing the new project Medical Bridge.
Medical Bridge is a joint initiative of Israeli Friends of Ukraine (Israel), the international organization Inter-Country Committee Rotary Club (Israel-Ukraine), and the Barzilai medical center (Israel), directed towards increase the professional level of Ukrainian doctors in the field of surgery and traumatology.
Over four weeks, Ukrainian doctors will attend an intensive training course. During this time, specialists from Ukraine will observe operations and others types of medical procedures accompanied by a Russian-speaking doctor, take part in doctors’ rounds, meetings of medical personnel and consultations.
The Barzilai medical center, located in Ashkelon, is renowned for being the main center where citizens are taken who have been injured in terrorist attacks, including in shelling of inhabited areas of the Southern district of Israel, and soldiers injured in anti-terrorist operations in the Gaza Strip.
