The Honorary Consulate of Israel opened in Lviv
02.06.2015, Jews and Society The Honorary Consulate of the State of Israel officialy opened in Lviv, Ukraine, on May, 28.
Honorary Consul Oleg Vishnyakov, deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Kyslytsa, Ambassador of Israel to Ukraine Eliav Belotserkovsky, Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Gennady Nadolenko, head of the parliamentary group of the Knesset for the Israeli – Ukraine Relations Tali Ploskov, Israeli Knesset member Sofa Landwehr and others guests participated in this important event. The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress was represented by the EAJC General Council Chairman, Chairman of the Vaad of Ukraine Joseph Zissels.
"My main goal is the development of economic, cultural, educational, humanitarian relations between our countries, – said at the opening ceremony Oleg Vishnyakov. – The people of Israel knows what war is. Israel is an expert in security and I want to transfer this experience to Ukraine. "
Since taking office in November, Mr. Vishnyakov already has implemented a number of significant projects with the support of the Embassy of Israel. Among them – weekly flight Lviv – Tel Aviv – Lviv. Economic conferences and business forums, seminars of Israeli professionals working with victims of war, as well as cultural events were held with the active participation of the Consul.
Today, Ukraine and Israel are preparing the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko's first official visit to Israel.
