On Monday, February 2, the leaders of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics — Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky — gave a joint press conference in Donetsk on behalf of parts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine that are currently occupied by Russians and their collaborators.

At the end of his speech, the head of the puppet DNR government Aleksandr Zakharchenko called the Ukrainian leaders “patheric Jews.”

He said that Poroshenko has no right whatsoever to lead “Cossack” Ukraine. “You might not have any sense, but the Ukrainian people do, and they will make you do what is good for the Ukrainian people. I want to say... That I don't remember a time in the history of Ukraine in which the Cossacks were ruled not by the people who... By people who have never used a blade in their lives. I can't remember Jews being...” The leader of the Lugansk terrorists, Igor Plotnitsky (who has been called “kike” by some of the members of Russian neo-cossack illegal paramilitary groups which control certain localities in Lugansk), understood the implications and added, smiling and apparently willing to make a joke out of the situation: “Why would you say that? Look at YouTube, there's a song called 'When the Jewish Cossacks rose up...'” However, the leader of the Donetsk terrorists parried with a rough: “These are no Jewish Cossacks, but only the pathetic representatives of a great people... [People like this] had certainly not ruled the Cossacks.”

“I think that Taras Bulba and Taras Shevchenko will be turning in their graves a lot because these kind of people rule Ukraine,” Zakharchenko summarized emphatically at the end of his press conference. Some Russian TV channels broadcast the news conference live.

Importantly, last spring the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs made an official statement in whiсh it called the demonstrations of pro-Russian separatists in Donbass, which were supported by Russian special forces military teams, to be “protests that were a reaction towards the violence of all those who disagree with the anti-Semitic acts of the coalition now ruling in Kyiv.”
