Gunman seize several hostages at kosher supermarket in Paris, link with Charlie Hebdo massacre
09.01.2015, Jews and Society A gunman has seized hostages at a kosher supermarket in Paris, while police in northern France have cornered the two suspects in the Charlie Hebdo magazine massacre.
Armed police flooded the Porte de Vincennes area of the French capital after the man reportedly opened fire and took up to five people prisoner.
He is said to be the gunman who killed a policewoman in Montrouge in the southern of Paris on Thursday.
A police official says the man appears linked to the newsroom massacre that left 12 people dead.
The official, who was not authorized to speak about the situation, said the man opened fire in the kosher market, near Paris' Porte de Vincennes, and declared "you know who I am."
On Thursday, police released a photo of Amedy Coulibaly, the suspect in that shooting, as well as his accomplice, Hayet Boumddiene.
