According to Ambassador of Israel to Ukraine Reuven Dinel, anti-Semitism in Ukraine is decisively dealt with at the highest level. The ambassador spoke on the subject in a TV show aired by the “112 Ukraine” TV Channel.

“Not on the state level, not in any kind of established policy, in no political party - and I stress that “no”; indeed, not one of them (even though I know which party you’re all thinking of) has used anti-Semitism, nobody has played this card. Any everyday manifestations of anti-Semitism that happen in Ukraine - and they do happen, like in any other state - have always been dealt with at the highest level,” the ambassador noted.

The ambassador rememembered the high-profile incident of a year and a half ago, when a Jewish youth had been beaten at Passover after he left the synagogue, and how the President personally gave the MIA an order to investigate.

“In my experience of working here, for almost three years now, I must say with great pleasure that in all local bodies, including government bodies and the Parliament, everywhere, that [anti-Semitism] is not only not encouraged but, on the contrary, cut short in the strongest possible manner. Thus, anti-Semitism simply is not a topic we converse on,” the ambassador summarized.
