Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon said the world inaction against the Syrian Assad regime is proof that Israel can’t rely on international assurances when mulling future peace deals. In an interview with Israel Radio, Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon Ayalon said Israel is willing to send food and medicine to help those fleeing the war-torn country to Jordan. Another Deputy Minister, Ayoub Kara, said that Israel would be willing to help treat casualties from the conflict in Syria.
Speaking during a meeting with Druze youths in the Golan Heights, Kara said, “Israel is ready to receive casualties who would be evacuated from Syria to Israel and, alternatively, we are ready to fly medical aid via Jordan to those children and infants whose families were destroyed by the Syrian regime’s massacres.”
“We are constantly in touch with the International Red Cross and are prepared to join any aid mission, adding our assets to US or European efforts,” Danny Ayalon said.
Ayalon criticized the “weak international response” to the violence in Syria and wondered why there was no international action similar to that which took place in Libya last year.
“Now only a large peacekeeping force, numbering tens of thousands of soldiers, can hope to bring an end to the suffering of the Syrian people,” he said.
The Israeli Minister said the world inaction against the Syrian regime “is proof that Israel can’t rely on international assurances in future peace deals with its neighbors.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that the Syrian regime is carrying out a massacre of civilians. “We see horrid pictures of children and the elderly," he said during the weekly cabinet meeting.
"The massacre is not only carried out by the Syrian government, but is also aided by Iran and Hezbollah," Netanyahu said. "The world must see this axis of evil so everyone would understand in what world we live in."
Earlier Sunday, Vice Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz accused Syrian President Bashar Assad of committing genocide during his crackdown on a 15-month uprising.
Strategic Affairs Minister Moshe Ya’alon said Hezbollah and Iran were actively helping Syrian President Assad because of concern of losing a key ally if he falls.
“The Iranian government and Hezbollah sent troops, since they are very worried about the possibility that Assad will fall,” Ya’alon said.
“Therefore they are investing more than a little in arms, intelligence support and the active assistance of fighters for Assad’s regime.”
And Israeli President Shimon Peres said he hoped the rebels "will win" their struggle.
In an interview with Israeli public radio, Peres said the "efforts of the international community are insufficient."
"We cannot remain indifferent to the tiny coffins that contain the bodies of children," he said ahead of a trip to Washington.
"The massacres get worse each day. It's shameful. I have the deepest respect for the rebels who expose themselves to live fire and I hope that they will win."
