The three-day visit of the Conference of Presidents, which is led by Malcolm Hoenlein, its Executive Vice Chairman, is part of the group’s leadership mission in Europe on its way to its annual conference in Israel. The 40 Jewish leaders participating in this mission will also travel to The Hague, Holland.
The Conference of Presidents is the central coordinating body representing 51 national Jewish organizations in the United States across the political and religious spectrums.
It is the voice of organized American Jewry, speaking and acting on the basis of consensus on issues of vital international and national concern.
For half a century, the Conference of Presidents has played a key role in American and world Jewish history.
The Conference of Presidents visit coincides with the inaugural meeting in Brussels on Thursday of the 120-member first elected European Jewish Parliament.
