Former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar, was honored Sunday in Brussels for his leading role in fighting the delegitimization of Israel in Europe.
He was awarded a unique medal by the European Jewish Union (EJU), an organization promoting Jewish life in Europe.
The medal is a limited edition handcrafted Menorah, symbol of Jewish resilience and continuity.
Aznar, who was Prime Minister of Spain between 1996 and 2004, is the first European leader to receive a medal by the European Jewish Union.
