The European Union summit on Friday expressed its "grave concern" on the fate of Gilad Shalit held prisoner by Hamas "in clear contravention to universal international humanitarian law."
"On the fifth anniversary of his capture, the European Council demands Gilad Shalit's immediate release," the EU leaders said in a statement released after their two-day meeting in Brussels.
