Holocaust Remembrance Day in the European Parliament

Holocaust Remembrance Day in the European Parliament

                  13.01.2011, Holocaust

An event commemorating the Holocaust will be organized on January 25 in Yehudi Menuhinh Hall of the European Parliament in Brussels in the presence of the EU legislative body’s Polish President, Jerzy Buzek.
The event, which is co-organised by the European Jewish Community Centre (EJCC), the European Jewish Congress (EJC), and the European Coalition for Israel (ECI), will be hosted by Hungarian Christian-Democrat MEP Laszlo Tokes. Hungary currently holds the rotating EU chairmanship.
The personalities who will attend the commemoration include Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel, Israel's Minister of Public Affairs Yuli Edelstein and Tel Aviv's Chief Rabbi and President of Yad Vashem, Rabbi Meir Lau.
The event, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2011, will also feature an exhibition of Yad Vashem entitled "The Architecture of Murder" and a special musical performance of the Ra'anana Symphony.
