The Israel Defense Forces bombed two sites in Gaza early Monday, in what is described as a retaliation against a rise in rocket and mortar attacks by Palestinian militants from the coastal enclave.
The nighttime airstrikes targeted "terrorist sites" in the north and south of the strip, the military said.
A spokeswoman in Tel Aviv said that meant sites used by radical groups to train militants or as outposts.
Three Thai workers were injured Saturday by a mortar shell fired from Gaza at the field in which they were working near the agricultural commune (kibbutz) of Nahal Oz Saturday. Since then, the kibbutz' foreign workers have not returned to the fields.
Since Friday evening, three rockets and five mortar shells landed in southern Israel, in the border area near Gaza, the IDF said.
