Obama: Israel settlement freeze plan 'promising'
15.11.2010, Israel and the World US President Barack Obama said Sunday it was a "promising" sign that Israel's prime minister was reviewing a package of US incentives aimed at halting Jewish settlement construction in the West Bank.
"I think it is promising," Obama, returning to Washington after a 10-day trip to Asia, said after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu laid out the US offer of political and security benefits before Israel's cabinet.
"I commend Prime Minister Netanyahu for taking I think a very Constructive step," he added.
