The International Theatre Festival in Perm hosted, amongst other groups, the Teatron Kameri from Tel Aviv.
The guests from the Israeli theatre company performed a play based on Hanoch Levin's work "Requiem." The actors paid a brief yet memorable visit to Perm. They warmly responded to an invitation extended by Chief Rabbi of Perm Zalman Deutch to celebrate Shabbat with the local community in the city’s synagogue.
The artists had many kind words to say about the warm atmosphere of the Shabbat gathering with the Jewish community of Perm. "We are grateful to Chabad, through which Jews everywhere, even in the remotest corners of the world, are constantly reminded that they are Jews," stated one of the Israeli actors on behalf of the whole troupe.
