Northern Irish Nobel laureate and peace activist Mairead Maguire was prevented from entering Israel Tuesday because of her participation in an attempt to run the Gaza blockade.
Maguire had come to Israel to lead a delegation of women on a week-long tour of Israel and the Palestinian territories.
But on arrival at Ben Gurion airport near Tel Aviv, the 66-year-old was told she would not be allowed to enter because of her deportation in June after travelling on a ship that tried to reach Gaza.
"They told her it was because of her participation in the Rachel Corrie boat," Ajou said. "They told her she will be prevented from visiting Israel for 10 years starting from today."
The interior ministry confirmed that the Northern Irish peace activist had been barred from entry over her participation in the aid boat.
The Rachel Corrie tried and failed to reach Gaza in early June, a week after Israeli forces mounted a raid on a flotilla heading for the coastal strip, which left nine Turkish activists dead.
"All those who were on the Rachel Corrie were deported. If she wants to come back, she should have coordinated it beforehand," spokeswoman Sabine Hadad told AFP.
"She can't just show up and expect to be allowed in. She was deported. She will be refused entry."
Adalah had been hoping to challenge the legality of the move, but the court turned down its request for an injunction to halt her deportation over a technicality, Ajou told AFP, saying Maguire was likely to be put on a plane back to Belfast later on Tuesday.
The incident came as Israeli naval forces intercepted another boat trying to reach the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.
The British-flagged yacht, which is carrying Jewish activists from Israel, Europe and the United States, was on Tuesday escorted to the southern Israeli port of Ashdod.
Five of those on board are Israelis, while the other four are foreign nationals who would be questioned then deported, the interior ministry said.
