Palestinian killed by Israeli guard in East Jerusalem
22.09.2010, Israel A Palestinian resident of the Silwan neighborhood of East Jerusalem was shot to death on Wednesday morning by an Israeli security guard.
According to Israeli police, the security guard testified that at around 4:00 A.M. he was passing through the village when dozens of Palestinian residents blocked his way with trash cans as they started hurling rocks at his vehicle.
The security guard then pulled out his weapon and fired at the residents, which resulted in the death of a 32-year-old Palestinian man, who is familiar to the police for past criminal activities.
Following the event, dozens of residents have been hurling rocks at the police forces and border guards stationed at the scene. One policeman was lightly injured.
