Rocket from Gaza lands in Israel
13.09.2010, Israel A rocket fired from Gaza landed in Israel's western Negev.
The rocket fired early Sunday morning landed near a kibbutz orchard. It was the fifth rocket to hit Israeli territory in five days, according to the Israeli military.
Four Kassam rockets reportedly landed in the Negev over the holiday weekend. On Sept. 8, a mortar shell landed next to a day care center shortly before children were scheduled to arrive.
On Sept. 9, Israel's Air Force struck what the military called a "terror activity center" in the northern Gaza Strip and a smuggling tunnel in southern Gaza. Direct hits were identified, according to the Israel Defense Forces spokesman. The attack was in retaliation for the rocket attacks on Israel from Gaza, the spokesman said.
