Overnight Camp Concludes in Odessa
20.07.2010, Community Life A Jewish overnight camp for boys on the grounds of the Luestdorf Health Resort has just wrapped up in the Odessa region. The camp afforded 150 children from across Ukraine weeks of fun and excitement in a safe, healthy and Jewish environment.
Each day, the campers’ schedule was filled with fun and invigorating activities like sports, swimming and survival skills. The survival course taught them about navigation and helped them hone their teamwork skills. There were also excursions to local points of interest and amusement.
An overnight camp for girls was held earlier in the summer in the Odessa region. The girls participated in similar activities as the boys, including bowling and horseback riding. Evening programs such as concerts and bonfires were a great success among the campers.
The camp was organized by the Chabad Shomrei Shabbos Jewish community of Odessa with the kind support of the Ohr Avner Foundation, headed by Lev Leviev, and the Keren Yedidut Fellowship Foundation, headed by Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein.
