The Fellowship Foundation (IFCJ) and the Volgograd Jewish Community Center have once again teamed up to help needy children who are at-risk due to family issues, low income levels, illness, etc.
This latest charitable campaign provided the young beneficiaries with high-quality footwear for the new summer season. This charity event was timed to coincide with the International Day of Children’s Protection.
In addition to the much-needed shoes, the children received a delightful surprise. Awaiting them in the lobby of the synagogue when they came to pick up the shoes were two-month-old tiger cubs and a baby cougar. The children were able to pet the animals as well as hold their paws! The event was made possible thanks to the director of Moscow’s Safari Circus, Alexei Beliansky.
In addition, free tickets for the children and their families were donated by the visiting Moscow Safari Circus. The sheer joy on the faces of the youngsters when they received the tickets was generous payment to the volunteers from the Volgograd JCC for organizing this important humanitarian aid program.
The Volgograd Jewish Community Center received words of appreciation and gratitude from parents and children alike: "The help you have provided to my child has reinforced our belief in people," stated the mother of Darina Chulkova.
“The Fellowship Foundation and our community have provided care, generosity and happiness to those who are in great need,” commented grandmother Vera Zankina. “Thank you very much!"
