Krivoy Rog: Camp Season Opens
07.06.2010, Community Life The first day of June, regarded as the first day of summer in the FSU is also the International Day for Children's Protection. Jewish children in Krivoy Rog began their summer holiday on this day by attending a camp run by the Jewish community. The opening day activities of the camp were run by two young counselors who arestudents at the Ohr Avner Chabad Day School, Nikolai Sikor and Victoria Duk. They introduced the campers to the camp routine, rules, and various activities and programs. Camp director Anna Reznikov told the children that she hopes this summer camp will help them “recharge” and have a healthy and happy summer.
After the official opening and a chance for campers and counselors to get acquainted with one another, the children played a game and also had a craft workshop led by Rebbetzin Michal Zelikson and Anna Reznikova.
On the following day, the Krivoy Rog day camp went to the city's Shevchenko Drama Theater, where they watched "The Nutcracker" and visited the theater’s museum. There, they received souvenir booklets about the local theater. Campers also had an opportunity to play in an outdoor park.
Many more fun activities and exciting learning opportunities are planned for the campers as part of this summer’s program.
