                  11.05.2010, Israel and the World

Defense Minister Ehud Barak stated Tuesday that there is no reason to fear any change in US policy regarding the Dimona reactor.
When asked in an Army Radio interview if it was possible that Washington would agree to inspection of the reactor by International Atomic Energy Agency observers, Barak said that during his recent visit to Washington, he held long talks with US President Barack Obama and leading military and intelligence officials.
"There is no threat to our position" he said, "Israel has deep understandings with the USA... the main focus of all disarmament talks is Iran and North Korea, in particular Iran; there is no threat to the traditional understandings between Israel and the USA".
Barak stated that there is no cause for any change in Israel's usual stance of ambiguity regarding nuclear weapons.
