Tula Jewish Community Celebrates Anniversary
29.04.2010, Community Life The Jewish community of Tula marked its tenth anniversary at the Regional Philharmonic with a concert "Shalom, My friends." The celebration included performances by the Alevay Klezmer Music Ensemble, under Nikolay Svetlichny, and the Governor's Brass Band, led by Polislav Balin, a member of the Jewish community and Honored Artist of Russia.
The festive concert was attended by Chief Rabbi of the Central Federal District Zeev Wagner, who read messages from Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar and the President of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia, Alexander Boroda.
The first part of the concert featured the Alevay Ensemble, who delighted the audience with classic songs as well as new compositions. The Governor's Brass Band starred in the second part of the concert. The musical program was well received, making the evening an unforgettable occasion for everyone in attendance.
The success of the celebration was made possible thanks to the dedication of the chairman of the Jewish community of Tula, Lev Reichlin, as well as the sponsorship of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish community, headed by Eruhom Shalmiev.
