IFCJ Helps Children in Eastern Ukraine
15.04.2010, Community Life This month, in Donetsk and other cities and towns in the surrounding region, a humanitarian aid campaign to benefit Jewish children was launched. Organized by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, with the support of the Federation of Jewish Communities of the CIS, the campaign benefitted needy children.
Jewish children from impoverished or single-parent families, as well as disabled children, received packages containing kosher food. More than 2,500 beneficiaries in the Donetsk Region have already received the food packages which include chicken, oil, cereals, canned vegetables, and tea. This aid is essential for low-income families.
The children and their parents were very happy to receive the gifts. They expressed their thanks to the IFCJ, also known as the Fellowship Foundation, and its director Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein.
