New Kosher Fish Products for Russia
18.02.2010, Religion Kosher consumers in Russia have more choices than ever before thanks to the production of a number of new items under rabbinical supervision. The brand "Pod Znakom Riyb” has recently become certified as kosher for an assortment of fish products.
The newly-approved kosher food products are produced by the country’s leading fish processing companies: "Dalprom-Riyba," "Gamma," and "Russkoye More." The companies are already supplying supermarkets with kosher tuna, canned salmon, salmon roe and "gefilte fish."
The koshering of the plants and everything associated with assuring that the new products meet the highest standards of Jewish dietary laws was under the supervision of the Kashrut Department of the Chief Rabbinate of Russia. This latest foray into kashrut by the fish processing companies was personally supervised by Rabbi Yosef Verzub. The certificate of kashrut was signed by Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar.
